I need to read all the threads and really learn to use my new CB. They sure make some cute dies.

ok, i've been hearing a TON about cuttle bug. and the only reason i would want it would be to emboss. BUT how big a piece of paper could i really emboss with cuttlebug? if that's all i'm gonna use it for, is it really worth it? is there another embossing thing i could get instead? just some questions i got/......

Paula, it will hold the Sizzix and Fiskars embossing plates. and of course the folders. You have about 5 1/2 space wide to emboss. Normally, I cut my paper a little less than 6 inches so it goes through easy enough. Yu can use all the dies from other companies and it will cut foam, chipboard, material, cardstock with ease.
HSN had the cuttlebug and so much more for only $118.00..It was a steal and if I needed an die cut machine I would have jumped on this.

I got mine solely to emboss, I don't know of a better way to emboss outside of a machine like this, I know there are some other machines that do the same as the CB but I think they all do about the same size at least that's all I've seen and it's so easy! I really like it alot, I guess you just have to determine how much you might use one and if it would be enough to warrant purchasing it.
Roe - I have the Fiskars embossing plates and I can't get them to work in it, they are too thick. Have you had any luck with them? If so could you give me some tips?

Elaine, check out this video. Sometimes, all you need to do is adjust what is going on top of the plate.
As for the rubber piece, you can find the rubber in the Plumbing department of Lowels or Home Depot. So I was told!!..To get the emboss to work, it needs a cushionie something.
