I have seen a device/machine not sure what you call it but you put your 35mm negatives or slides in it and transfer them to the PC. Does anyone here know anything about these? What they are called, where I might purchase one?

I use to have a HP Scanner that was able to do that, but I never understood how it worked. That was years ago when I first got a computer, before I thought of 'all in one'. I spent lots of money because I didn't know what I was buying.
do a search for scanning negatives. now you have me curious.. ..

If you don't have a scanner, it looks like you can get one of these: http://www.shoptronics.com/ion-slides2pc-photo-negative-slide-convertor.html
Personally, I'd really like one! I have millions of slides and negatives. Well worth the expense.

One thing, not all scanners will scan a slide or neg. Personally, I'd get the device. You might check Amazon or somewhere where there are reviews to make sure it's a decent product. Will do that myself, when I get a sec.

right, not al scanners will do it. From what I'm seeing the this newer HP, it's more people friendly that the original one I had. Looks like everything is right there for you to work with. The one I had needed a sleeve and a lot of figuring out. See, it was a regular scanner with this added feature. If you have a scanner, then maybe the special device would be better. But, if you don't have a scanner at all, you may want to see about getting one that does both. Just a suggestion.
Good luck and keep us posted!!!
