This may be a really stupid question, but it baffles me.  (hush, Jenny! )

So....I save a digital kit to my computer, I extract all to "open" them.  Well, on some of them, there are several items and I can't figure out how to make them individual instead of "the page".
Do you know what I'm talking about?  Can you explain??

when i upload and etract a free digi page, i always end up with 1-3 pages that are completed. i don't think you CAN separate those.

you just have ot use the other individual stuff.

at least this has been MY experience.

Trisha, I jsut did a digital card and know what you are talking about.

There are couple ways of doing this..copy/paste then erase or

crop what you want. hit copy then paste to you work sheet.  You can erase any excess stuff.  make sense?

Now, if there is another way...maybe someone else has an answer...

Hope I helped some..

Paula, surely there is a way?  I mean, they threw in buttons ribbons, and flowers, stuff like that.  Surely you are just suppose to use it like that??

See Roe, I tried that, but it always leaves white around the back where I didn't erase...I don't know.

You need to have a layer.  I don't know what program you are usng, but say I have my work sheet open.  Then I open the 'buttons'.  That will be on a new page.  I'll crop one button.  Hit copy.  Now, when you click paste, I have a choice and I paste as new layer.

When I paste that to the worksheet, I can rezise it, move it (with another tool) and then erase around the button.  Since the button is on top as a layer, it will erase down to the next bottom layer.  Does that make sense?

Trisha caught me this afternoon.  She can't use it because she doesn't have the correct program to take it.  That's what I think.  Hopefully she can get updated so she can use these goodies!

Paula, I'm heading to bed.  when I opened the shee of alpha, I cropped around the one I wanted and then clicked the check mark to secure it. That will make the rest of the sheet close.  I then did the copy/paste. Now if Iwanat another letter, I need to open the sheet again and follow the same steps.

I did not have to erase anything.

Just make sure when you paste you have 'new layer'..

If you have PSP8, I can walk you through it.  but not now....

I'm sure I'll be one tomorrow..

Roe is right.  You crop out the bit you want, then use it.  Save the original as it was the begin with.

Yes, I bet you do. Took me awhile to find how to do it.  See if this works for you:

Open your PSE program.  Open a bg or photo.  Now it's in your workspace.  Copy something, a photo or whatever.  You know, right click, copy.  Ok, so now it's ready to paste.  Go to Edit.  Scroll down and see the word paste.  click it.  Now the item you copied will be a new layer on the item you opened first.

Let me know if that works.  That's how mine works.
