Elaine was so right about my time being limited. We have 8 mouths to feed this summer - it's all temporary and I'm glad they can come home during difficult times, but it's sure a housefull. When they are all here, there are 2 9 y/o's (they both will turn 9 this next week), a 10 y/o and an 11 y/o. We do have a pool and that's a lifesaver, and a Wii game, and of course, they all have a Nintendo hand-held game. We play board games pretty often. Their lives are interrupted now, so they all want 'me' time with granny and after work, it's a challenge for me to expend yet more energy, but so far, God has provided. :) I squeezed in a couple of LO's yesterday b/c I didn't have to work at HL. I have to go now, almost time to leave for church. I miss my computer time.

Good hearing from you Ione. So much for that empty nesting stuff. Both my kids are living back home again...no grandkids yet.

WOW 47 scrapbooks! That's awesome!
What time of day do you usually get up? Do you eat breakfast? If so what do you like for breakfast?

Well, it depends what I've got to do that day. I love to sleep in! But often I get up around 7:45 if I've got exercise class or other Dr. appointments, etc. Now with summer and no exercise class, it's a little later. DH likes to sleep in on the weekends to about 8:30 or 9, so I do that too.
I always need to eat something in the morning. Usually dry cereal, with some sort of berries on top with skim milk and a cup of coffee or tea. Sometimes if I'm hurrying off I grab a banana or yogurt and go.

Robin, love learning these new things about you! I feel like I have known you for you years and yet I am learning so much! :
I know your daughter's name is Erin. I'd love to know the stories behind the names of your children.

Well, when I was expecting my daughter, popular TV actresses then were Erin Gray from Buck Rogers(later Silver Spoons), and Erin Moran from Happy Days, and I really liked that name. Her middle name is Elaine...named after my mother Elaine. We had Daniel picked if she were a boy.
When my son was on his way we had Holly picked out if it was a girl(due date was the week before Christmas) and Jonathan picked out for a boy. Grandpa Bullock is a John, so it sort of fit. You know they didn't have those ultra sounds perfected to tell the sex of the baby back then...just shortly after my kids were born, they improved. His middle name is Russell, after his dad.

You picked some fine names for your daughter. Don't you agree Erin?

What jobs/volunteer jobs have you held?
What non-profit organization(s) do you support?

man, I just typed a whole page and must have pushed delete....ugh. Here goes again.
Past jobs include substitute teaching, waitressing, and teaching gymnastics in my 20's. I worked for several years in the state of MO unemployment office....not too fun. I also worked several years in fabric stores, because I loved to sew.
I volunteered in my church office for a couple of years and DH and I did the church middle school youth group for several years. I was a girl scout leader for a few years for DD and and Cub scout leader for DS for a few years until we talked the "men" into taking over the rough house boys. Imagine teaching pocket knife safety and instructions to 8 hyperactive 8 year olds!
My husband and I support (with our $$ and time) Habitat for Humanity. DH is on the board for Habitat and has a couple days each year where he gets a bunch of his employees to help build a house in the city. He's also on the board of the YMCA and helps with the facilities and building permits, etc. We also go to many support type events for both of those.
WE also donate to Lollipop Farm, the local animal shelter. Love those pets!

Wow! I knew you were active in the community, but I am so impressed with what a big philanthropist you are!
Also, I thought I would shout out a big Happy Birthday in this forum as well!

I know you have a fondness for chocolate Robin.
Other food weaknesses?
How do you manage to control those? I know you do it well!
What's a typical dinner meal?

Favorite ice cream would be pistachio....hard to find, but sooo good. Or anything with nuts in it.
Gee, I never thought about a favorite or least favorite word! Least fav might be anything related to the dentist or tooth problems...yuck. Favorite word might be "PARTY"!

Other food weaknesses would be nuts, and movie popcorn....I can smell it now. I don't control it well anymore! All that weight I lost a few years ago, I gained right back. :sad
A typical dinner I cook at home in the summer would be something on the grill, like chicken, steak, or fish along with a garden fresh salad and some rice pilaf or boiled potatoes. All though with DD's farm I need to experiment with other stuff like beets and summer squash and Swiss chard and cabbage. I also like to make stir fry meals.....that comes in handy with farm ingredients too.

My favorite restaurant is this quaint little place called Simply Crepes. It's in a nearby historic canal shopping area in a really old building that looks like a little farmhouse all decorated in French country flair. They serve the best dinner and dessert crepes ever. I go with DD or a friend once in a while and we share a dinner crepe and a dessert crepe....they are really big and it's hard to pass up the dessert ones. Yum...I wanna go now.
Yes, I am a coffee drinker. I try not to have too much caffeine after noon though, cause it keeps me awake. I love my tea....usually decaf or green tea or flavored herbal or fruity teas.

I have 2 large old cats. Jolly is mostly white with a splotch of gray on his head and Bunker is a dark brown tiger cat. They are both in their teens and aren't as active as they once were. Bunker is my shadow cat....he follows me around the house constantly.
