I found this challenge at Splitcoaststampers...an amazing wealth of information over there, but a LOT to dig through, so just stay here, stay comfy and I'll bring it to you!
This months challenge is the bandana technique...
It is called the Bandanna Technique (the spelling of Bandanna or Bandana are both acceptable according to Webster's Dictionary) because of the appearance of a workman's bandanna. I first heard about this technique in the August/September issue of Technique Junkies Newsletter. It's a great technique that utilizes stamped images with additional doodling done with a white opaque pen.
The technique really lies in the opaque white pen that you use to highlight certain aspects of your stamped image. Doodle a little - doodle a lot - it's up to you.
Basically the way to replicate the look is to stamp your image onto colored cardstock using similar ink, or make your own background with any other technique you like and stamp your image using black ink onto your cardstock. From that point you just use your stamped images as your guide as you dot and dash your way around your designs.

Lisa, this is for you...
Used my copics for the first time on a card!! Love how easy they are to work with...
Oh I wanted to mention too, Lisa, I did the distressing with the metal ruler!..That was easy to do!.It doesn't show well on the photo, but I know I can do it more for other projects. Thanks for the tip!!

ladies..
Well, during our Texas trip, I was asking about a tool I had seen in the magazine to distress edges. Paula said she had one, but when I saw it at the convention, it was not the one I had seen in the magazine. Lisa mentioned about using a metal ruler and running the edge of it along the cardstock. So, since I didn't have anything else, I gave it a try. It really works and is so easy..and cheap....I didn't distress this much, but you can go over it more to get a heavier effect. Am I making sense?....
