Stupid QuestionWhen you all make cards, do you start with a pre folded card or do you start from scratch with cardstock? If you start from scratch what sizes do you make and where do you find envelopes? I want to start some Christmas cards, just not sure what size to make and where to start.

i start from a 12x12 piece of cardstock.
i use leftover envelopes from stuff from before (like wedding invite envelopes and such)
i make the card to fit the envelope
if i don't have either , i will use my cricut to make an envelope then the card to fit

Katt, I've used both prefolded and some cut on the Cricut..Oh and some where I do folds...
You can buy a box of A2 envelopes just about anywhere and that would hold the quarterfold size card.
You best deal, would be at Michaels and buy the Value Pack which comes with 50 cards and 50 envelopes. The size is 6 1/2 x 5 for the card. No extra postage and it's a nice size card to work with. As much as I like to stack and give dimension on a card, I normall keep it pretty flat to keep the postage down and will make a few of the more postage...just because...
Hope that helps!!
Oh gotta tell ya...I stopped in Michaels today before getting on the road home from Sarasota and got a great deal on cards!!..Reg. $9.99 and it was 2 for $10.00. Also, the $4.99 packs were 2 for $5.00...Had to buy them.. ..

I use pre folded ones for the most part. I've made a few "from scratch" but usually keep to a standard size (A2) as I usually have that size envie sitting around.

I'd say 90% of the time I use prefolded cards. It's a nice way to get into cardmaking.

I get prefolded cards in either white or cream....and then work from there...that way I have the envie!

I always start from scratch, and make the A2 size (half of an 8 1/2 x 11 ~ even if I start with 12x12 paper!) and fold it in half for vertical or horizontal. I use clear envelopes that I order from Clearbags.com. I rarely do any other size, as this seems to be very versitile for me.
