I was going through my new CK magazine and of course, Halloween and anything related to it is highlighted in this issure.
There is an article "Spooky photos' that caught my attention. Since I couldn't wait to take the required photos, I thought I'd try with what I had.
Pretty much, you take two photos. One with a subject and one without. It suggests using a tripod to get the exact match. Now, since I don't ave Photoshop, I just did a duplicate and then a copy/paste.
I took a photo of me sitting at the beach/rocks in Aruba. I made a duplicate and closed up the original so as not to mess it up. Then I made a duplicate again now giving me two photos. I needed one without me in it, so I just did a clone to make more ocean, rocks and sand. Not perfect, but that was ok. Remember, I'm only playing around.
Once I was gone from the photo, I clicked on the one with me in it and hit copy. Went back to the one with out me and hit paste/new layer. I didn't have to resize anything; it fit right into place. Then I lightened the top photo so I would look like a ghost on the beach!!..You can see a little of the clone behind me, but it just seems to fit right in....
Now, for Halloween..this would look really cool!!! and of course, done the two step way...

That is a great idea for halloween an you did a marvelous job on it!
I can see where some really unique LOs can happen for that theme.
Funny how we are playing with this technique and you see it in a mag. at the same time, that's pretty cool!

I think cloning was the first thing I learned with my program....As a matter of fact, that photo was cloned to take out a guy standing in the background so I would be the only one in the photo for my layout....That is what I use it the most for..to get rid of people. It's pretty easy when you have trees, flowers, water, etc....
