It's Time for the March Build a Layout Challenge!
It's gonna be fun!
For details on how this challenge works, please see below...

Now on with the challenge!

Step 1 (3/1): Time to Gather The Materials
You will need the following to get you started on this challenge:

*At least 5 pictures of the same event/topic. Yes, I said at least 5. Now, don’t be scared. You can do this!

*You will need one color of cardstock that you would like to be the background for these photos. You will only really need one piece of cardstock.

*You will also need a piece of black cardstock and/or paper.

There are some other items as well, but I am sure you will all have them in your stash. :)

Step 2 (3/7): Picture Placement

Play around with the placement of your photos on the cardstock. Try to group them and or overlap them. Even if you are doing a two pager, you can still do this. Just try to create more of a collage look – this can be a clean design or funky. You choose. One of the pictures needs to really pop off the page. Take the “pop” photo and mat it however you’d like with black construction paper. Maybe also use pop dots? The “popped” photo also needs to be in the collage somehow. Once you are happy with it, go ahead and stick it down!

Now remember, I am pretty flexible so do what works best for your layout, but try to keep within the challenge. If I don’t specifically say “Make the mat 2 inches out”, then do what you want.

Step 3 (3/13): Title Time

Mixed letter title using 2 words.

Present it along the border of your photos – going up and down, etc. Just needs to be bordering your photos. You determine what "bordering your photos" is.

Incorporate at least 3 brads in your title.

Step 4 (3/22): Doodle
Please doodle on your layout! Have fun!

Step 5 (3/26): Journal
You must include the following in your journaling. I don't care how you journal it, but you have to have the following on you layout.

Who? What? When? Where?

Step 6 (3/29): Add a couple of your own little accents to finish up your layout and don't forget to post it! :)

How this challenge works:

*I will be posting certain elements/techniques/embellishments, etc for you to "build" a layout throughout the rest of this month.

*You will have to watch this thread for the details as I post them - no set times or dates will be given ahead, but I will give you plenty of time to add to your layout at each step. Go ahead and stick it down at each step instead of waiting until the end - that's the fun and challenging part!

*I will be choosing items that most everyone would have in their stash already.

*I think it would be really fun to see everyone's progress through a picture posted here after each step or two. (Please use photobucket, or the add image to post option under the topic screen etc. so we don't jam up the gallery) If that is a pain and you don't have time to take a pic and such, we will go on the honor system. I'm a flexible girl.

*If you get "behind" and don't get an addition to your layout done before I post the next addition, just add what you forgot and catch up when you can. You can join in at any time.

*This layout can be combined with other challenges going on if it is ok with the other challenge host.

*You can do digi. :)
