I have Irfanview on my computer that I use for photo editing. Is that a program I can use to do digi layouts or should I try another program?

Girl, I'm really not much help, but I will gladly share what little I know.
I just use Word. I know, I should really venture out, but I'm taking baby steps. Anything that I haven't been able to use in Word, I've uploaded to Photobucket, edited, and saved it to my computer and used it like that. After I make a sketch/or the one digital, I copy and paste to a program called Xnview. Wendi introduced me to it years ago - it's how I edit my pics. I then add words, like "title" or "journaling", stuff like that.
Xnview is a free, downloadable program I got off of the internet.
