desing studio help..ok.. I'm taking a stab at making my own threading water punch with the DS. First time trying my hand at a design instead fo just clicking on already made cut files....
my questions... I connected the square from Gearoge to a "eyelet ruffle" off Accent essenctuals. the line on the sq and the straight edge fo the edge will be cut apart...how do I get it to just cut the outside edge of everything? What am I missing?

Karen, not sure what you are doing, but I took the scallop and then a square (though now it's a rectangle).
The first screen will show you what I used.
The second screen will show you what it looks like merged. Do you notice the ligher lines? that means it is merged and will only cut around the dark lines.
Just remember to click merge and do each design seperately. If you accidently connect the two (like forgot to click off to the side of the first design), use the back space key and that will just remove the last design you type on the work sheet.
[ok, give me a sec to get the photos...

Thanks Roe---
I looked around the cricut boards and found this.
http://myfaqcricutds.blogspot.com...wing-your-design-without-non.html
She shows how to have the image up... go to a new page...hit the "eye" button and it "pastes" the image to the new page like it would cut...with all the extra stuff take off...you know the dotted lines, the cneterin x etc.
very neat. I guess I had the scallop so dead on that it was a "double light line" to make it look dark like it would be a cut line when in fact it wasn't.
again... you all are the bestest DS friends a girl could ask for. : :

Thanks Karen... :
I use the 'eye' when I do a design with several merging items..Especially words.. ..When you merge, just make sure you overlap a little..or as much as you want.. ..
Did you update? I did and now you can nudge up and down. Normally, I jsut use the drag, but I can see where it may come in handy..
So, when are you coming over??
