Christmas Cards

Anyone thinking about these yet?  Do you make or buy?
mykidsmom4ever

I do both...I really need to start making some.
RobinB

I mostly buy.  My DH has to send cards to a LOT of employees and I get to help.  So I am usually too busy this time of year to make many.  But I will sometimes make a few just for fun and send to my mom or sisters.

Oh Rita..what a good question...!!

I thought I was going to have a jump on my cards this year, but....

I was planning on making Christmas cards at the SWARM (crop) and have them ready.  Then it was mentioned that someone was collecting Christmas cards that will be sent to our military overseas so they can send them home to family and friends.  So, that is what I'm doing.

The Stretch Your Imagination cartridge is perfect for quick easy cards.  I will make one to show what I'm doing.

In the past, I've made cards for special people, but then some are just those out of the box, let me get one out kinda card....

since I'm still learning how to run my Cricut, can you please post about how you are doing the technical part of selecting and sizing it...please.  I haven't figured out how to size a card right yet on that thing.
vellumx

Robin, when I did my card sizing, I used Design Studio.  It allowed me to see how big I wanted it.  It ended up to e a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2.  I will make one with just the cricut and get back to you.

I didn't make an envelope for it, but will use just a small envelope and it fits.

Ok, first off...it's Erin not Rita.....Guess I should have finished my cup of coffee before I started typing....

Ok, I'm going to have a quick class on making a card using SYI...

Please check it out....

THANKS!!!

Good for you... I need to start.  :)
nathan's momma

i usually go to the $ store and buy, but since i rarely get any back, i  may make just for those i know will appreciate it and forget the rest all together. tired of spending $ on postage for people i never talk to. done with all that. so, we're talking MAYBE 10 total! i should get started come to think of it!
MeganBailey

I like to make cards everyone I ever made one for said they would rather have a homemade card cause its from the heart.

Hi Megan, good seeing your post!!

I was walking through Target yesterday in the Christmas section and saw boxed cards done in black and white..Wow, they looked so good, never thinking of that combo for christmas..

needless to say, I started thinking of what I can do with my Cricut cartridges..
BettyBee

I love to make my cards...but I have to come up with a design that I can duplicate without making me crazy, because I send out a LOT of cards.  DH likes to do individual personalized cards for every family member, then we are blessed to have a lot of friends everywhere, so cards are a big deal.  I wish I had the new Christmas cartridge for the cricut, but I haven't gotten it yet....is it released yet?  Anybody know?
vellumx

Quick and easy would be the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge!!...I know I will be doing some from there.  Couldn't tell ya about the Christmas one...

Betty, can't wait until you post your cards for the girls to see!!..
