BummedI had an idea to get me out of the rut that I am in, but it failed. I had planned on downloading the trial version of DS today, but unfortunaly I need Service Pack 2 for XP. Well to make a long story short, my computer won't install the service pack. UGH. So now I have this cute little cricut icon on my desktop and can't do a darn thing with it.

Oh Katt, that is a bummer...Buy why won't your system download Service Pak 2? I remember having to do that a long time ago. I would think Microsoft would have let you known you needed it for some programs and it's an inportant update.
Did you do a check for updates with Microsft? Maybe there is a FAQ section you can check; maybe others had the same problem...
Hope you get it updated... :sad

awww, that's jsut not right.
i know i was having trouble downloading my microsoft updates for about 2-3m. then, all of a sudden....it worked! now my computer runs better. there was no rhyme or reason, it jsut was. just keep trying to dowload those updates every day. at some point, i'm sure it will go through.

Not really sure why it won't install. All I know is that it will get to a certain spot and just abort. Really nerve racking! We have another computer that we are going to try setting up, still runs on Windows 98, so not sure if DS will work on that system....need to check the requirements. Not giving up yet.
Soes anyone know if I buy the program, with the disk if I still need the Service pack 2? Just curious.

Katt, couldn't tell ya about the program, but you may want to find out from Microsoft why it's not taking. It could be that you have something blocking it.
I'm trying to remember when I updated Microsoft what the reason was. I just got the impression that it was necessary for XP and have seen where some programs will mention that you need SP2.
Were you trying to download it from the Mircosoft update sight? I have my computer set up for auto updates and I still check to see if I have all the updates needed.

Yeah I tried downloading from the Microsoft site. I may go into a problem solving forum and see if I can get some help. Thanks for the ideas though.
