An IdeaWell, gang, I have been thinking about this for a bit ...
Renee hasn't been around much but I don't want to take away this forum from her so will ask her what she thinks, but only if you all are interested.
Two ideas, actually:
A photo tips forum. Where we can share what we have learned that helps us take better pictures. Or share a tip we would like to try but haven't. Anything, any bit of something to boost this area.
Second, a photo-a-day challenge. This could be a low pressure deal. My thought is to list a week's worth (or limit to five a week, something like that) each Sunday or Monday of photo shot assignments. Then whoever wants to can try that assignment. Some examples are: portrait, low light, animals, nature, with flash, without flash, b/w, close-up, grouping, still life, baby, body part, etc etc etc. Ideas are endless. Then through the week the photographer - that's you! - can be looking for those opportunities.
Now we all know I've been pretty busy lately but I have this new camera and really really really want to use it more, practice more, learn more. So if I have a challenge, I will move forward at a more steady pace.
So maybe several of you also would like to do this. I could run the forum, but take ideas/tips/assignments from all of you.
If you think you'd like to do this, reply here. Then I will run it by Nee and see if she's happy with it. Then ask for forums for these.
Plus any ideas in addition are more than welcome.

I think that's a wonderful idea Marlene.
I also love the idea of a photo challenge with a set limit. I would really love to learn the settings on my camera.

I need to play with my camera more so a challenge sounds great!
As for tips, I'm afraid I will be reading more than I can give.. ..

I think I will go ahead and PM Nee. Four of five of us is enough, but will hope for several more interested people.
Any time any of us learns something, we can share it. Roe, you know you will grab something here and there, so when you do, share it!

It will definitely be ongoing, Lynn. And as much commitment as anyone wants, as with any other challenge.

Marlene, I think it's a wonderful idea. I would not feel right participating since I am a professional photographer, but I am willing to help out in any way I can! Not that I know it all already, there is always room for improvement.

Ticia, jump in whenever! I am sure you will see my ignorance a whole lot, so you will have plenty of opportunity to correct me!
I will try not to mislead, however, but I surely have a long long way to go!

You all, I have not heard from Renee. She has not collected the PM I sent .... I want to be sensitive, but may go ahead with this later on this week, either way ... I am guessing she would not mind.
