Long before doing layouts, I use to make cards. That was before it was known as "card-making" and my computer printed out most of what I sent. Having a card-making program is a big help and I still use mine except it is now used to embellish my hand-made card. Adding ribbon/lace and special gel pens decorated those cards my printer printed for me. They were even more personal because I added the receivers name in print. Always a special touch.

Once I got into doing layouts, I accumulated all the fun tools, die cuts, chalk and ink to bring my paper to life. I realized, that these same products could be used on my cards. I gradually got away from the 90% computer generated cards and found myself buying those little extras for those cards I now find easier to make.

One of the most important rules to remember (as with any project), it should be fun. When you look at your work, you shouldn’t ask yourself if it looks ok for someone else, but are you doing something to be proud of. I like to think of what I do as “creative liberties”. This allows me to make mistakes, cover them up or do something that may seem a little “off the wall”.

Remember, what you do is your creation. If you scraplift a card, just add one thing that makes it personal from you.

very nice!  but many of the cards I've seen of yours are mini works of art!!  esp that one Valentines one you had/ve on a plate stand.   Hey it's about that time again...you should scout for somewhere to submit it.

you are an inspiration and very proud to call a friend!

I scraplift all the time - it's what this website is all about, right?  I always try to turn the sketch/layout that I'm working on upside down or mirror it so that it's different.
