hey Robin!! My stock question for everyone...do you enjoy reading? If so what kind of books? Who is your favorite author?

Well, I'm embarrassed to say I'm not much of a reader.  I did read the Harry Potter books though and sometimes we all shared reading the books out loud to each other.  That's something we always did with the kids as they grew up and it is still fun to do once in a while.  That being said, I always have a scrap magazine to read close by and lately veggie cookbooks to find interesting recipe's to share and try.

No need to be embarrased!! I do remember you saying you all read the harry potter books aloud, and I think that is really really awesome.  You did a super LO about it too...

MY husband loves to work in the yard...mostly with flowers and shrubs though.  We did try our hand and a few veggies, long ago, like a tomato or 2, sugar snap peas, and a couple lettuces, but the deers & bunnies enjoyed them more than we did.  I'm not an avid gardener, but I like helping my husband pick out stuff to plant in the yard.  I love taking pictures of the flowers and making some pretty LO's with them.  My DD Erin, was always beside him digging in the dirt.  She has her degree in landscape architecture, but it's too much inside work for her.  Wish the farming paid her more.

Congrats Robin!  I am wanting to know what got you started in scrapbooking and what are some of your favorite products?

Oh, I just wrote that all out in the commentary section...link below...
http://haveyourwaywithpaper.myfreeforum.org/about9095.html

Some of my favorite scrapping products are my X xyron adhesive, Zig chisel point 2 way glue pens, my Fiskars trimmer, even though it still cuts a little crooked at times.  I love a clear artists ruler to line up sticker letters with and help measure out and line up other stuff.  And despite finally having an electronic cutting machine(Cricut Expression) I still reach for my old Colluzzle templates now and then(especially the circles) and my old punches.  Punches are just so quick and easy to use, despite being a bit bulky.  I'm really loving flowers lately....just can't get enough....

Robin, I admire you so much for tackling breast cancer and sharing  your story.  I have even seen you scrap some of those hard times.  Where those layouts hard to scrap, or were they rewarding in the sense that you beat cancer?

Thank you.  They were rewarding to scrap because I beat cancer. I can look back on it now, but I couldn't have done them before I did.  I waited a good 4 years, and I needed that to kind of feel back to normal...it takes a while.  It taught me how strong I can be.

Hi Robin!  Congrats on this honor:)

I too am so proud of you for your victory over cancer.

What would you say is one of the most important lessons you've learned in life?
Who inspires you the most?  Why?
What is your normal daily routine?

Thanks.

An important lesson I've learned in life is "don't fret the small stuff, and it's all small stuff".  That's a book I got quite a while back.  But I think you have to live a bit of the craziness of having to get things perfect all the time in order to realize....it's nuts!  No one else really cares whether things are clean and tidy all the time, or if you're wearing the right clothing for the big event, etc.  So I've learned to relax and not worry so much if things aren't just right.  It's more important to enjoy the moment.  I think I can move to the Caribbean now!  LOL.

Inspiration?  Hmmm.  I mentioned Dr. Phil in my other post...love his candor.  Lately I really am inspired by my daughter and the fine job she is doing on the farm.  She is really a hard worker and I'm really proud of her work ethic and determination to make it work better that ever expected.

My daily routine?  I don't have a job outside the home other than helping DD on her farm now and then.  So I have a bit of freedom.  During the non summer months I go twice a week to a step aerobics class.  I'm taking the summer off.  When the weather is nice, from about April through Oct. I like to get out and golf.  Tuesday is my ladies golf day and usually includes dinner with the gals.  I try to go with my husband at least once or twice each week too, but that has dwindled a bit since the farm work prevails.  Friday nights, DH and I have long had a "date" night out.  Usually a movie or dinner out in the winter and in the summer months mostly at the club's Fri. night couples Scotch golf outing where a lot of our friends come out too.  But a normal boring day is usually made up of laundry, taking care of the cats, errand running, grocery shopping, browsing the forums,  scrapping a little, cooking and a little cleaning.

Congratulations Robin!
Do you scrap in any kind of order or just randomly?
What's your favorite subject to scrap?

It's usually chronological order for my scrapping.  But sometimes I go out of order for variety or for a certain challenge or when I have vacation pictures and I feel like working on a larger project.

I like to scrap my family and my vacations.  Always looking for ideas for travel scrapbooks.

Thanks, Elaine.  I'm glad you're finding your way around here.  How's your sister?...haven't seen her around in a while...she would pop in now and then.

Thanks Robin - I'm loving it here! It's actually because of you that I am here. My sister (Ione/blabberfingerz) told me about you suggesting this site to her and so I checked it out and here I am!
She is just VERY busy these days, she works at Hobby Lobby and has a house full of family right now - 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren are living with her plus she teaches a Sunday school class weekly so she has to prepare for that as well. She does get a little scrapping in occasionally but not as much as she would like with all the activity. I know she'd like to be active here but she just has no time - maybe someday. Thanks for asking about her, I'll let her know you did.

Oh - I had another question. How many scrapbooks have you completed?

at last count I think I counted 47 scrapbooks!!  I'm running out of space to store my scrapbooks!

My comfort food is probably pasta with butter or creamy type sauce, although I don't have it very often.
